Caught on May 13, 2003 on a small piece of jack with a small Owner 6/0
hook on a 4/0 Penn Senator rod and reel combo. The fight was very fierce.
The saw fish ran 4 times each time for about 300-400 yards. I had no idea
what it was. 45min later it surfaced and finally we saw what it was, never
before have I seen a fish thrash its head around so much, it was scary. After I caught it I
learned that it was an endangered and protected species. We brought it to the
beach took the hook out and pushed it out to sea, man what a fish. It was
about 12 feet long from tip of saw to the tail with about a 4ft saw, and weighed over 300lbs, the
biggest fish I caught and one of the best fights I ever had with a fish.
Its a one in a life time fish.
